UX & Product Design / Service Design / User Research / Product Strategy
During my time with Skylight, a digital consultancy using design and technology to help agencies deliver better public services, I had the opportunity to work on several projects with State and Federal government agencies such as the State of Connecticut’s Office of Early Childhood, Centers for Medicaid and CHIP Business Solutions, and the Department of Health and Human Services. The projects shown below are previews of this work.

The OEC Website is a critical resource for families, child care providers, academics and researchers, and legislature. We engaged OEC in a user centered design process to create a single, user-focused homepage that reflects OEC’s brand. The redesign also includes new functionalities such as a News & Updates section, newsletters, and a calendar of events. It is a responsive website built on Wordpress, so OEC staff can own and maintain their agencies content.

The MACBIS Envisioning work came as a call to action after CMS’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ask was to better understand how the different products with the MACBIS ecosystem respond to new healthcare policy rollouts. Through this initiative, I conducted several stakeholder interviews with CMCS stakeholders and product teams, and engaged them in a generative journey mapping process, to create a journey of the process. These findings were later turned into a refined service blueprint with identified opportunities to bring to product teams for co-design of integration and data sharing opportunities.

Telehealth.hhs.gov website
In response the the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked with HHS to develop a site that took a few iterations before focusing on telemedicine. In the span of 3 weeks we conducted user research (and usability testing!), designed, and launched telehealth.hhs.gov to provide general knowledge about telemedicine to both the public and healthcare providers. Our team aggregated the updates to legislation regarding virtual screening tools, and compiled an FAQ of resources to support the implementation, delivery, and billing processes.
